You must be authorized by your program to complete and submit this form. By submitting, you confirm that the information is accurate and reflects current program requirements.
Please note: Programs, options, or specialties must receive formal approval through Curriculog before this form is submitted. If the program has not yet been approved, please wait until Curriculog approval is complete prior to completing this form.
The University of Kentucky Graduate School maintains minimum admission standards that all applicants must meet; programs may set additional requirements but may not waive or lower the Graduate School’s baseline criteria. All applicants must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. or recognized foreign institution. A minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.75 and graduate GPA of 3.00 is required. Official transcripts must be submitted from all previously attended institutions.
GRE scores are generally no longer required by the Graduate School as of Fall 2024, though individual programs may still require them. Additional requirements apply to international applicants, including proof of English proficiency, financial certification, and health screenings upon arrival. Letters of Recommendation
The Letter of Recommendation form asks recommenders to rate the applicant on key qualities such as:
Analytical Ability, Research Skills, Initiative, Persistence, Written and Oral Communication, Interpersonal Skills, and Creativity.
Each trait is rated on a scale ranging from Top 2% to Below 50%, with an option for "Unable to Judge."

The Graduate School’s application deadline for domestic applicants is one month prior to the start of the intended semester of entry.
Note: If a program sets an earlier deadline than this, the program’s deadline takes precedence.
Application deadlines for international students are as follows:
Most programs do not admit international students for the summer term.
Important: If a domestic application deadline is earlier than the international deadline, the earlier domestic deadline overrides the international one.
